Principal Ray Slater is an experienced coal industry geologist.
Ray completed his undergraduate studies in geology at the Australian National University in Canberra in 1979 (BSc, Hons) and later completed a Graduate Diploma in Mineral Economics externally through Macquarie University in Sydney.
Ray has 30 years combined professional experience in coal exploration and mining geology, and has worked for government, private industry, consulting groups and as an independent contract geologist throughout Eastern Australia, in New Zealand, Malaysia and Indonesia, principally associated with coal exploration and mining, but also has experience in exploration for base and precious metals, and industrial minerals.
Ray is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists; a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and qualifies as a “competent person” under the JORC Code guidelines for the purposes of reporting coal resources and reserves.
RSA currently employs a number of senior, junior, graduate and student geologists, field technicians, and database management, IT, Health and Safety, logistics and support staff.
